Jackson eats scrambled eggs + avocado + steamed apples

Hello little foodies!

Today, Jackson had a big breakfast. He had so much fun with it, that most of it ended up on the floor.

Today’s menu was scrambled eggs, avocado, and steamed apples.

The scrambled eggs were pretty straightforward. Scrambled on the stove and made into big fluffy chunks for Jackson to easily grab.

For the avocados, they were sliced (peel and pit removed beforehand) and rolled into ground flaxseed to make the avocado less slippery and easier for Jackson to hold. I tried leaving a bit of the peel on last time, but it was pretty slippery and messy. Even with the flaxseed, it was still pretty messy, but I found Jackson held onto them better this time.

And the apples were peeled, sliced and steamed until soft enough when pressed between thumb and forefinger.

I wasn’t expecting him to finish all of that food. I put more on his plate in hopes that there will be more chances for the food to end up in his mouth than on the floor.

As you can see most of it is leftover after playing, and there’s was more but Opie did a good job cleaning up. (I let him have everything that fell to the floor except avocado, which isn’t safe for dogs to consume)

The reality is, some days Jackson will be very interested in his food and other days its a playing sensory experience. Today was the latter.
